Eight AltaMed Clinics in Orange County Achieve Meaningful Use

AltaMed, Southern California’s premier network of community clinics, senior-care programs, and health and human services for the entire family, have delivered quality care to the underserved communities of Southern California for over forty years. They are a Primary Care Medical Home (PCMH) and the largest independent Federally Qualified Community Health Clinic in the US. They have 855,000 annual patient visits among forty-three different sites. e2o Health has been the service provider assigned by Cal Optima Regional Extension Center at all eight of their clinics in Orange County since February 2012 to help them to achieve Meaningful Use.

On June 15, 2012, these eight AltaMed clinics achieved their goal to have all of their providers achieve the Meaningful Use measures for the reporting period from March 15, 2012 to June 15, 2012, two weeks earlier than originally planned. The sites that achieved Meaningful Use attestation are: Anaheim, Garden Grove, Huntington Beach, Orange, Santa Ana 17th Street, Santa Ana Broadway, Santa Ana Central, and Santa Ana Main.

Their success is a result of a collaborative effort made by the AltaMed MU Task Force and e2o Health’s project engineers. AltaMed has a special MU Task Force chaired by healthcare expert Dr. Felix Carpio, a NextGen savvy physician and a great, compassionate leader. e2o Health has a special MU Team led by Sunny Saran, MBA (UCLA), a certified NextGen Service Provider and a strong technical CEO, and a team of Project Engineers including Nguyet Nguyen.

The e2o Health assigned Project Engineers ran their MU reports, identified the main issues in the MU reports and then met with the providers and their MAs to train them on the workflow, which was approved by AltaMed’s MU Task Force. The workflow was then captured by the weekly Crystal Report query until all of the Meaningful Use percentages were met.
