e2o Health Awarded LA Care eConsult Project contract

e2o Health Wins LA Care eConsult Contract

e2o Health is proud to announce that it has been awarded a one year contract with LA Care to introduce an innovative eConsult product into 20 of the 51 clinics selected under the LA Care Health Plan. L.A. Care Health Plan, the nation’s largest public health plan, is initially investing $1.5 million to implement an innovative eConsult system, an electronic physician-to-specialist consultation and referral system, at approximately 51 L.A. County safety net sites, including Los Angeles County Department of Health Services (DHS) health care facilities. The product gives PCPs the capability to dialog with specialists about their patients and discuss their cases within a 48 hour time period. Once the eConsult system has been fully implemented, nearly 1 in 4 clinic sites in L.A. County will use this system. It will replace the current RPS referral system used by DHS LA County.

On staff will be four e2o Health Workflow Engineers who will train back-office staff and physicians in 20 DHS clinics how to use this product and help them to fit it into their current workflows. They will track its’ utilization in the clinics and provide on-going support. This is a big step forward for e2o Health in meeting needs that go beyond EHR at the same time as requiring that EHRs be implemented and running smoothly at the clinic sites adopting this product.

e2o Health has recruited the four workflow engineers from Community College HIT Workforce programs; specifically the Implementation Support Specialist and Manager programs. All of e2o Health’s employees came out of these workforce programs and entered the company initially as interns. Sunny Saran, e2o Health’s CEO, has been an industry leader in supporting the cohort programs and is a partner with East LA, Orange County, Cypress and Mesa Community Colleges.

The Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) industry is a small community, and it was due to the good recommendations that e2o Health received from both Cal Optima Regional Extension Center (COREC) and the federally funded Workforce Cohort program, that led e2o Health to be awarded this prestigious and high-profile contract. e2o Health has proven itself with an excellent track record and reputation as a quality service provider for physicians and physician practices in Orange, Los Angeles, Ventura and Kern counties.
